The National Grocer's Association (NGA) Show Review 2023

The 2023 National Grocers Association (NGA) Show, which took place from February 26 to 28 at the Caesars Forum Convention Center in Las Vegas, was a noteworthy occasion. Independent retail and wholesale grocers from all across the country had the chance to network, participate in educational programs, and present ideas that are influencing the independent food retail industry. The technological summit, the IGA Awards ceremony, and the Best Bagger Competition were among the show's strong list of activities.

On day one, guests listened to an inspiring keynote by Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind person to climb Mount Everest, who highlighted how to harness the force of hardship as fuel for greatness. On the first day of the show, there was also a networking reception for women leaders called the WGA.

With a chance to meet, build new connections, and exchange experiences.

The IGA Awards ceremony, which took place on day two of the NGA exhibit, recognized members with accolades such IGA Retailer of the Year from the United States and other countries as well as wholesaler prizes. The approximately 300 exhibitors and sponsors who demonstrated goods, services, and technology to the community of independent grocers were also accessible to participants on day two. If you are looking more for products than ExpoWest is another great show to consider, the largest health food expo in the United States.

The third day of the event started with a breakfast session where market and financial issues that independent grocers should watch for were discussed. The presentation of the student case study took place on the final day of the event. This year's competition included Dierbergs Markets as its theme, with a focus on hiring and retaining staff members.

In addition to the bustling show floor, guests benefited from numerous informative workshops on important issues for independent publishers. Multicultural marketing, What Gen Z Wants, and Better Sourcing at a Time of Rising Prices, Changing the Front In End, our co-founder Zach spoke in this one, these were some of the sessions covered in this list. The latter session focused on how retailers can overcome the title's inflation-fueled obstacle quickly and adaptably, as well as allocations that benefit the larger players, by looking to local suppliers, developing strong bonds with reliable wholesalers who can offer greater purchasing power, and seizing opportunities that present themselves.

Ultimately, there were many opportunities for attendees to leave the 2023 NGA Show with the information and abilities needed to adapt and succeed in a field that is constantly changing. From multicultural marketing to creative hiring to center store.
